Concert by the light of a thousand candles in Sa Punta des Molí

The light of a thousand candles will illuminate the concert organized by Sonora this Saturday, June 29, at 9.30 pm at sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni. An open-air recital and free admission that offers “a unique experience against the backdrop of the sunset over the bay of Portmany. After the success of the concert at the church last February, Sonora returns to Sant Antoni on a new stage and with a renewed repertoire,” say the organizers in a note.

The musicians Carlos García (violin), Arturo Sepúlveda (cello) and Alberto Sánchez (grand piano) will be in charge of creating the soundtrack for this magical sunset. Bartomeu Tur, artistic director of Sonora, the cultural entity producing the recital, will present the concert. The repertoire of this string and piano duo includes delicate pieces by renowned composers such as Ludovico Einaudi, lively movie soundtracks such as ‘La La Land’ or ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, and pop hits such as ‘Viva la vida’, “guaranteeing a musical and emotional journey for all attendees”, they point out.

Sonora is a cultural entity born in 2019 in Madrid, directed by the Ibizan Bartomeu Tur and coordinated by Sofia Sainz. It aims to build and innovate in the field of culture and is managed by young professional musicians committed to cultural promotion among a public normally more distant from musical environments. Its brand of experiences, Aurum, has filled emblematic spaces such as the Teatro de la Latina in Madrid, the Teatro Zorrilla in Valladolid or the Teatro Liceo in Salamanca, with 25 musicians on stage and more than a thousand candles.

Venue: Auditorium of sa Punta des Molí de Sant Antoni.

Price: Free admission.
