The Consell de Ibiza and the Pitiusa Association of Businesses Regular Transport Businesses (Apebus) yesterday signed anย agreement to jointly manage the Sant Antoni bus station. The second vice president and Minister of Transport, Javier Torres, pointed out that the continuity of the operation of this station, whose income from advertising and ticket sales plummeted with the arrival of the pandemic and the absence of tourists, is guaranteed.

“There had already begun to be problems with operation in terms of cleaning services and opening hours, which caused inconvenience to users and the drivers themselves,” Torres said yesterday in his office after the signing. Thus, the agreement sets a maximum of 80,610 euros per year to offset the cost of the service of this facility which will be operated by Apebus.
The Consell has already commissioned a study “to see the costs and the potential for the development of the station in order to work on a future tender and that it is arranged in a definitive way” he continued. Therefore, this is a “transitional” measure until the new tender and can be extended on an annual basis.
