Chef violently assaults customer in Ibiza restaurant over returned dish

The Guardia Civil has arrested a 37-year-old Spanish cook for the following charges seriously assaulting a customer who was eating at his restaurant in Santa Eulària. The victim, according to the agents, wanted to return a dish that he had not ordered and that, moreover, was in bad condition.

The customer, a 72-year-old German man, was enjoying a meal with his partner and friends at this restaurant last September. He informed the waiters at the restaurant that the dish he had been served was not the one he had ordered and that it was in poor condition. At that moment, the cook of the establishment went to the victim’s table shouting and insulting him. The worker gave the customer a strong push that caused him to fall to the floor and hit the back of a chair, resulting in a strong blow to his back and the back of his head. In addition, while the man was on the floor, the alleged aggressor crashed the plate of food right next to him, while continuing to yell and insult him.

After getting up and leaving the restaurant, the victim went with his relatives to a health center and there he was told that he only had minor bruises. After a few days, the customer continued to feel unwell and went in this case to the Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza, where they quickly decided to transfer him to the Son Espases Hospital in Palma. The man had two blood clots in his chest that made it difficult for him to breathe.

The cook of the restaurant was arrested for these facts, as alleged perpetrator of a crime of serious injury and presented before the Judicial Authority.
