On Saturday, January 25, the Can Ventosa Auditorium will host a special concert by the Soloists of the Banda Simfònica Ciutat d’Eivissa (BSCE). Announced in a press release from the Ibiza City Council, the performance will begin at 7:00 p.m., showcasing an evening of musical virtuosity.
A Unique Musical Experience
The concert, conducted by Damián Boluda, will feature seven pieces highlighting solo performances on various instruments, accompanied by the full band. The evening will open with Monterosi by Jacobo de Haan, performed by the BSCE.
The program continues with:
- A trumpet solo by Pablo Macià in Ferrer Ferran’s Eolo y lo Rey.
- Joan Ramón’s bassoon solo in James Barnes’ Concertino for Bassoon and Wind Ensemble.
- Francisco Martínez on euphonium for Philip Sparke’s Pantomime.
- Stefano Serra’s drum solo in Satoshi Yagisawa’s Concertino for Solo Percussion and Wind Orchestra.
To conclude, the BSCE will perform Devil’s Island by Wouter Lenarts and Danzas Cubanas by Robert Sheldon, rounding off a dynamic and diverse program.
Broadening Horizons Through Music
Carmen Domínguez, Ibiza’s Councilor of Culture, expressed her enthusiasm for the concert:
“People often associate solo performances with traditional instruments like the violin or piano. This event expands the public’s imagination by highlighting less common solo instruments.”
Free Admission
Entry to the concert is free until full capacity is reached, and the Ibiza Town Hall anticipates a full house for this exceptional cultural event.
