The Sant Josep Town Council has denounced acts of vandalism that have affected the buoys on many of the municipality’s beaches, which have been taking place over the last week. In Cala des Jondal, Cala Tarida, Punta Pinet or s’Estanyol, among other bathing areas, someone has cut the buoys that delimit the channels for boat access and that “seek the safety of bathers, hindering the activity of anchoring in prohibited areas and closer to the coast”.
The Consistory has launched a device to “start from today the restoration work with the company awarded to restore safety to users of these beaches.
With the beaconing the limits for navigation and for bathers are established with the aim also to “prevent violations by many companies operating without a license, mainly charters or jet ski rental companies”.
Request for assistance
Both the Consistory and the company awarded the beaconing have contacted the Guardia Civil to denounce this sabotage.
The collaboration of the Maritime Unit of the Benemérita has also been requested in order to “identify the boats and nautical vehicles that operate in the bathing areas without the proper permits and authorizations”.
The City Council counts 80 boats within the bathing area only in Punta Pinet and s’Estanyol, which have already been denounced by the Local Police of the municipality for anchoring outside the corresponding zone.
