With the summer, the longer days, the heat… comes the desire to escape for a few days to disconnect. If you are going to look for accommodation, remember to do it wisely to avoid possible scams and frauds. To do this, it is recommended: choose reliable websites, be wary of impossible bargains and check the real reviews.

During certain times of the year, such as now in summer or during the Easter or Christmas vacations, it is common that increase in the number of vacation rental offers it is also common for users to go to rental websites trying to find bargains and apartments at the best price.

Avoiding scams when hiring accommodation during the vacations is key to enjoy the days off, so it is imperative to verify the reputation of the website or platform offering the accommodation and avoid direct transfers if you do not know the company. There are also some warning signs of a possible scam: that the accommodation disappears from the platform after payment; that the owner claims to be out of the country and only accepts payment by wire transfer; that they contact you through another means to offer you a lower price.
