The Guardia Civil in Ibiza is reinforcing the services of citizen security on the occasion of the devices established for the ‘openings’ of 2025. The controls started last April 26th and will continue over the next few days, according to a press release.
In the first weekend of openings of leisure premises, the following have been registered eight arrestsfive of them for drug trafficking, two for assaulting an officer of the authority, serious resistance and reckless driving, and one for having a search warrant issued by the authority. In addition, the Guardia Civil has lifted 76 complaints to the Citizen Security Law for carrying small quantities of drugs on public roads.
The agents have also controlled during these three days more than a hundred vehicles, more than 200 people have been identified and different quantities of cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy pills, crystal meth, ketamine, tussi and bottles of nitrous oxide have been seized, as well as a scale and tools for the preparation of drug doses.
The Civil Guard has informed that this reinforcement and increase of controls has the following objectives objective the prevention of thefts and robberies, as well as drug trafficking in the main nightlife areas that inaugurate the 2025 season. Civil guards from different citizen security units stationed on the island of Ibiza, supported by the Reserve and Security Group (ARS) from Valencia, specialized in providing security in concentrations and crowds at shows, in crowd control and in carrying out checkpoints.
