Agents of the National Police have arrested six people, four men and two women, in the province of Valencia for allegedly forming part of a criminal group that produced synthetic drugs on a large scale in a clandestine laboratory in which there were more than 35 kilograms of MDMA and distributed it mainly in Ibiza.
Also, the agents have seized three kilos of crystal meth, almost two kilos of cocaine, more than 10 kilos of ketamine, 328 units of LSD, about 18 kilos of marijuana, four firearms, more than 7,000 euros in cash and two high-end vehicles, as reported by the National Police in a statement.
The investigation began after the agents learned that, apparently, an individual was engaged in the production of large quantities of synthetic drugs for subsequent distribution, as well as the cultivation of marijuana, locating its center of operations in a municipality in the province of Valencia.
The agents found that the main suspect was leading “a high standard of living”, in addition to meeting on a continuous basis with people linked, mostly, to the world of drug trafficking.
They acquired substances abroad
After several investigative steps, the National Police have found that this person had a clandestine laboratory for the production of large-scale production of synthetic drugs and acquired the precursors and substances needed for their production from different countries, mainly the Netherlands.
The members of the organization, according to the agents, were equipped with knowledge necessary to mix these substances with which they obtained different types of synthetic drugs for later use distribution to different points of the Spanish geography, mostly to Ibiza.
In addition, the members of the criminal group had a differentiation of functions, while some acted as “guardians” and “custodians” of the drugs, others were in charge of helping the main investigated in the processing of the substances, and third parties acted as front men for the goods to launder the money obtained.
The police operation has culminated with the location of the main investigated, who was intercepted in the city of Valencia while driving his high-end vehicle in which he was carrying a significant amount of ecstasy pills and a bottle of shower gel containing ketamine inside, reason for which he was arrested.
A subway structure
The agents located the clandestine laboratory located in a closed and hidden room in the vicinity of a horse stable on the plot of land where the main suspect resided.
Likewise, thanks to the collaboration of the Canine Guide Unit, two boxes buried underground with a significant amount of synthetic drugs such as crystal meth, ketamine and ecstasy were located.
On the other hand, a structure divided into four underground rooms, “zulo” type, which was accessed through the sofa of the bed in one of the bedrooms by means of a hydraulic device; a room prepared to hide in case of “overturning” by other organizations that tried to attack the laboratory.
This operation has resulted in the arrest of a total of six people, four men and two women, as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of belonging to a criminal group, drug trafficking and money laundering.
The detainees have been placed at judicial disposition and one of them is in pre-trial detention.
