The National Police arrested a 44-year-old German man in Ibiza during the nightclub closures for fleeing from a police control, as well as for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. However, the Corps has assessed in a statement on Monday in a satisfactory way the device put in place on the occasion of these holidays.
The Police recalled that during the previous weekend, and in collaboration with the Local Police of Ibiza, a device was deployed in the main nightlife areas with the aim of facilitating all activities and events to develop normally and in a safe environment.
The operation concluded with about thirty people identified in the different points where police controls were established, as well as the seizure of quantities of narcotic substances through 40 reports.
The only relevant intervention is the one mentioned at the beginning, which happened in the early morning of the 14th at 1.45 am near a discotheque in the city, when the police control observed a high-end vehicle “that maneuvered in a striking way with the intention, presumably, to avoid the security filter”, highlights the note.
The national police officers initiated a cautious pursuit of the car indicating on several occasions by means of acoustic and light signals and verbal instructions over the public address system to stop.
The driver and his companion did not respond to the requests, but, finally, the agents managed to stop the vehicle several kilometers later after closing the way. In addition to having ignored the indications of the Police, the driver was aggressive with them and refused to get out of the vehicle, so it was necessary to request support from other police officers and reduce this individual, who tested positive for both drugs and alcohol, explains the note from the National Police.
The man was arrested for disobedience and resistance to law enforcement officers, in addition to the consequences of driving under the influence of prohibited substances while driving. Afterwards, he was taken to the police station to pass to judicial disposition.
