“Have an unforgettable experience sleeping on a small sailboat under Formentera’s magical nighttime stars”. So begins the description of the ad posted on the Airbnb platform to rent a boat in the Pitiusa Menor. It says it is an “original idea” to discover the island and its blue waters. However, the boat in question has, as he explains, “no real kitchen or bathroom”, although “it has a reserve of fresh water to take a shower outdoors and a small gas stove.”
The night costs 200 euros, to which must be added another 50 for cleaning costs and 248 euros more for service commission.
According to the ad, the sailboat is 6.70 meters long and is moored “in a quiet and protected lagoon”, right next to the port of La Savina. “Someone will be in charge of bringing you to the boat to explain everything during check-in and, afterwards, you will be completely autonomous with a small dinghy to transfer you to the port,” it reads.
The advertiser says it is “ideal” for a couple, also if they have a child, or for a group of two or three people. “The basis for living and enjoying the experience of sleeping on a free-spirited boat and enjoying the starry skies of Formentera,” it adds. Its motto is: “Let your inner pirate soul of the Southern Seas live!”.
Airbnb ad offers “VIP ferry service”
Also, if the person who wants to rent it is on Ibiza and does not want to take the ferry, there is the offer of a transfer in a private zodiac “to discover the sea and arrive to the site as if you were a vip”. The price of the transfer is “not much more expensive than the classic ferry that you have to take to get to Formentera”.
“Other highlights”
In the ad there is a drop-down, under the name ‘other highlights’, which explains that the idea is to use the boat as accommodation, but not for sailing. Despite the fact that you can read that it is a good alternative to stay “for sea and adventure lovers”.
