The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns that this week there will be heavy showers in the Balearic Sea that could occasionally affect the Balearic soil, especially on Wednesday. It is a “difficult situation to predict”, explains the Aemet.
The rise of warm and humid air masses along an elongated area of low atmospheric pressure will cause increasing instability that will spread throughout the Mediterranean area from Wednesday, which will eventually affect the entire peninsular territory.
On the other hand, the formation of low pressure to the west of Portugal will contribute to intensify the breezes, which will bring more humidity to the interior of the peninsula and will favor the formation of showers and storms, occasionally strong.
Rains over the weekend
Thus, on Wednesday showers are expected in Ibiza and Formentera from early morning and will continue on Thursday to a lesser extent. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the probability of precipitation increases. The Aemet points out that the high uncertainty that characterizes these situations prevents to specify when the rainy episode will end. However, the forecast for the Pitiusas is of rains even on the weekend.
Temperatures will remain between 17 and 29 degrees.
