AEMET warns Ibiza of Hurricane Isaac remnants: impact on the island

The State Meteorological Agency(Aemet) has activated the yellow risk in the Pitiusas by coastal phenomena this Thursday from five in the morning until 11 in the morning by wind from the north with intervals of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour (force seven) and waves of two to three meters. After the passage of the squall Aitoribiza and Formentera will be affected by the remnants of Hurricane Isaac.

The State Meteorological Agency reported the creation of this tropical cyclone in the Atlantic at the beginning of the week that has gradually developed into a squall that its effector will affect Ibiza and Formentera from Wednesday afternoon.

The forecast for precipitation is brought forward to Wednesday from 18:00 hours with an 80% chance of rain. On Thursday, the probability is reduced to 65% and only until 12 noon.

Highs will remain at 26 degrees tomorrow, while lows drop to 18 degrees.

For the rest of the week, clear and cloudy skies and lows and highs of 16 and 26 degrees are expected.

On the other hand, Formentera and Ibiza airport recorded a tropical night in the early hours of Wednesday, October 2, with minimums reaching 22 degrees.
