The Aemet raises the alert for rainfall in Ibiza: up to 100 liters per square meter

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the alert level for heavy rains in Ibiza and Formentera for this Thursday. The forecast of the meteorologists is that they can fall up to 100 liters per square meter in just two hours, so the yellow warning has been changed to orange (important risk). According to the warning on their website, 50 accumulated liters could be registered in one hour.

The yellow warning will be activated at 24 hours on Wednesday and will remain active until 12 noon on Thursday. It is from that time until 24 hours on Thursday when the Aemet will activate the orange warning.

It will also remain active the yellow alert for storms, strong winds and coastal phenomena will also remain active. The forecast is that the wind blows from the northeast with intervals of 40 to 50 kilometers and force six. Waves of up to two meters are also expected on the islands.

The storm will continue during Friday morning. Meteorologists have activated for this day until 10 am the yellow warning for rainfall of up to 25 liters per square meter.

The rains will be accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures, mainly minimum temperatures, which will not exceed 20 degrees. Maximum temperatures will reach 29 degrees.
