The Aemet announces the arrival of a new squall that will end the spring weather in Ibiza

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a start of the week marked by spring-like temperatures, although from Wednesday onwards the arrival of a new squall to the Peninsula could leave widespread rainfall in the archipelago and also cause a slight drop in temperatures. According to the Aemet forecast, cloudy or very cloudy skies with rain are expected on Wednesday in the Balearic Islands from early in the morning.

In the case of Ibiza and Formentera, this Wednesday the maximum temperatures will drop to 17 degrees and the minimum rises to 10 degrees. There is a 25 percent chance of precipitation.

Today’s weather in Ibiza

This Tuesday clear skies are expected in Ibiza and Formentera to start the month of April. Temperatures will remain unchanged, although highs could drop slightly to 20 degrees. The wind will blow moderately from the southeast.

The warmest day

This Monday the Balearic Islands recorded the warmest day so far this year in the archipelago. In Sant Joan reached this Monday 25.8 degrees, thus exceeding by 0.2 degrees the maximum temperature of Pollença recorded last January 27.

The average temperature of the islands this Monday was 21.6 degrees.

Ibiza and Sant Antoni reached 23 degrees, followed by Formentera, with 20 degrees, and Ibiza airport, with 19 degrees.

Dust in suspension

The Aemet forecasts that this Friday there will be dust in suspension in the Balearic Islands, which will worsen the air quality. Health authorities recall that these episodes of haze are harmful to health as they can cause from an increase in respiratory and cardiovascular problems to an increase in admissions for allergies.
