€99 million budget for 2026 in Ibiza Town: infrastructure, housing and more police

The Ibiza Town Hall has prepared a budget of €98,914,858 for 2026, the largest in its history. The budget was presented on Monday at the Cetis by Mayor Rafael Triguero and Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Economic Resources, Gema Marí. This represents an 8.28% increase compared to 2025, and the town hall expects it to reach €100 million by 2027.

Of the nearly €99 million, €1.14 million will be allocated to increasing the staff of the Local Police, with 15 new officers, three new sergeants, and one new inspector. This will add 19 new personnel “to ensure the safety and welfare of citizens”, as well as the acquisition of additional equipment and vehicles for the force. Specifically, €150,000 has been earmarked for the purchase of vehicles, funded by the Consell de Capitalidad. The Local Police force currently comprises 99 members, and there have recently been 75 applications for a municipal call to fill four positions. The ultimate goal of the municipal government team is to reach “at least 150 officers”.

64.95% of the budget comes from municipal funds, with 21.56% from the State, 6.93% from the regional government (Govern), 4.10% from the Consell, and 2.40% from European funds.
