More from 650 kilos of different drugs seized and at least eight detainees of different nationalities is the balance of a macro anti-drug operation that has been carried out in the last three days in Ibiza, according to Diario de Ibiza, although everything has been carried out with the utmost discretion and little information has transcended for the moment.
Everything has been resolved this afternoon, when the substitute judge of the Court of Instruction number 1 of Ibiza, รngeles Casanovas, has sent to prison without bail to six of those arrestedfour of them are reportedly Italian nationals, one Dutch and one German, as confirmed by the lawyer of one of them, Francisco Lorente.
The operation began several months ago in Torremolinos and the Guardia Civil has carried out an intense investigation to tie up all the loose ends and arrest the members of an international organization that trafficked in the islands with various types of drugs and in large quantities.
Large quantities
Proof of this is the large volume of the substances seized, especially ecstasy, with more than one million pills seized, apparently weighing more than 350 kilos. Also seized were about 65 kilos of MDMA, about 200 kilos of ketamine, about 20 kilos of tusi or pink cocaine and as many kilos of cocaine.
Although it started in Torremolinos, the main investigations have been carried out in the Balearic Islands. In fact, the case is being handled by the Juzgado de Instrucciรณn number 3 of Palma and in Ibiza the number 1 collaborates.
Apparently, the searches on the island began this Thursday, although the operation has been carried out in the Balearic Islands in absolute secrecy. Different homes in various areas of Ibiza, including a marina, and also vehicles were reportedly searched.
Among those arrested on the island could be the ringleaders of the organization. In total there have been eight people, four Italians, a Dutchman, a German and two women of Spanish nationality since, apparently, part of the drugs were found in their homes, although this is still to be confirmed.
Those arrested have been brought before the court today, Saturday, and according to the lawyer, the judge has ordered the six men to be held in prison without bail and the two women to be released on bail of 3,000 euros.
The case is under secret of the summary, although in the next few days it is normal that the public opinion will know how the operation has developed and the total amount of drugs seized from this organization.
