The Cuerpo Nacional de Policía in Ibiza yesterday welcomed 40 basic scale agents that begin their assignment on the island. This incorporation contrasts with the departure of 33 other officials, so that, at this time, the employment roles in this area are 90% occupied, as detailed by police sources.

The chief commissioner, Manuel Hernández, and the insular director of the General State Administration, Enrique Sánchez, welcomed the new officers, nine of whom are women, in a ceremony held at the Club Diario de Ibiza. It so happens that five of these police officers, belonging to the XXXV promotion, were completing their internships on the island until now.
In his speech, Hernandez highlighted the close collaboration initiated with the Guardía Civil in Ibiza due to the increase in the arrival of immigrants by boat, as well as the historical relationship with the bodies under its jurisdiction in the municipality of Ibiza, the Policía Local and the Policía Portuaria. In the Balearic Islands as a whole, 159 agents of the Cuerpo Nacional de Policía have been incorporated.
