These are all the speed cameras in Ibiza in 2025

Speeding continues to be one of the main causes of accidents in our country. For this reason, every year, the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) intensifies its efforts to raise awareness among drivers so that they reduce their speed at the wheel. One of the most widely used tools to achieve this are speed control radars.

There are two types of speed cameras:

  • Fixed speed cameras or unmanned speed cameras: these are those that we see located in booths, they are usually on the side of the road, although they can also be found on gantries or posts. This type of radar must always be signposted.
  • Mobile radars or speed cameras with operator: They are those that are in camouflaged or official cars of the Guardia Civil. These radars work whether the vehicle in which they are installed is moving or not.

Recently, the City Council of Ibiza has installed five educational radars in the city. The aim, as reported from the Consistory, is to to raise awareness among drivers about speeding. The new devices are, for the time being, in the testing phase and have been installed in the vuit d’Agost avenue, Es Cubells street, des Jondal street, Sant Jordi avenue and Pere Matutes Noguera avenue.

The speed cameras operating in Ibiza in 2025

The General Directorate of Traffic periodically updates the list of radars that it has installed and are operational on the different roads in Spain. Specifically, in the Balearic Islands, there are currently a total of 54 radars, 24 of them fixed, i.e., they are located at specific kilometer points and do not move on different roads.

In all Ibiza there are 8 radars monitoring the speed of vehicles on the roads.

In the list of these points and stretches of speed control of the DGT, you can find information about the road on which these devices are located, the type of radar, the kilometer point where they are located and if they are in increasing or decreasing direction of the road.

The one that issues the most fines

On the road EI-600 there are two fixed radars, one at kilometer point 7.957 in decreasing direction and the other at kilometer point 9.635 in an increasing direction. One of these radars is the most heavily fined. It is the first one, which issued 4,387 fines between January and April of this year for speeding.

The road from Sant Josep to Sant Antoni is another of the roads that stands out for its high percentage of sanctions. The radar is located at EI-700 at kilometer point 7.01 in increasing direction.

On the road to Sant Carles is the third largest fine. It is located on the EI-200 at kilometer point 8.14 in the increasing direction of the kilometer.

On the EI30, road from Ses Païsses to Cala de Bou there are two radars, at kilometer point 0.76 decreasing direction and at kilometer point 0.076 decreasing direction.

On the road from Sant Agustí to Sant Josep there is another radar, at kilometer point 0.076 decreasing direction EI-700at kilometer point 15.568 in a decreasing direction.

In Jesús there is another radar installed, specifically at the EI-100, kilometer point 1.73, in increasing direction of the kilometer.

In Ca na Negreta there is another operational radar, at the EI-300, kilometer point 5.432 in decreasing direction.

Although there are more fixed radars in Ibiza, such as the one recently installed in Can Guillemó, Camí Vell de Sant Mateu , Sant Carles (near Las Dalias) or the one in sa Blanca Dona, they do not appear in the DGT list of operational radars, according to its website.

New radars

On the other hand, the streets of Ibiza will soon have three new radars. Or at least three boxes for a radar that will rotate between the three. The locations marked by the Local Police Department of the City Council are the avenue of Sant Josep de sa Talaia (the road that goes from the traffic circle of ses Figueretes to that of the Civil Guard) in ascending and descending direction, one will be at the height of Portinatx street and another at the height of des Figueral street; while the third will be located on Corona street (Can Misses hospital) in descending direction, foreseeably as a deterrent in front of the Can Misses school.
