Platja d’en Bossa hosts the second world “tortilla de parara” (potato omelet) contest

The residents association of Platja d’en Bossa is getting ready to celebrate the second edition of the world potato omelette contest. The competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, as it happened last year, coinciding with another gastronomic fair of the municipality of Ibiza, the Fira Marinera.

The championship will begin at 7:00 p.m, when all the people interested in participating will have to deliver their omelette to the premises of the neighborhood association. These must be prepared with at least ten eggs and potatoes. From there, each cook is free to deploy all his culinary creativity, as it must have a third ingredient. Any ingredient, but one that makes the omelette tasty. From the controversial onion to a bit of chorizo or any other vegetable (spinach, garlic, mushrooms, peppers…) or even fish or legumes.

The jury, as it happened last year, will taste all the tortillas that are presented to the contest and will reward the three that they like the most. Then more than 20 participated, as they remember from the neighborhood association, which maintains an intense program of activities throughout the year: courses, workshops, parties, popular meals, excursions, performances, contests…
