Palladium Hotel Group begins expansion of its resort in Jamaica

Palladium Hotel Group has begun work on the expansion of the resort of the brand Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts located in Jamaica, which currently has 1,049 rooms and to which 948 more will be added, with an investment of 20 million dollars (19 million euros).

The construction of this second phase is being promoted by the Ibizan holding company Matutes Group of Companiesowner of the asset. The expansion of the establishment will “reinforce the presence of the brand” in the country and will incorporate the concept family selection and the luxury brand TRS Hotels for adults only.

Details of the expansion project were announced at a groundbreaking ceremony held last Tuesday, February 18, in the municipality of Lucea, attended by the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, and several government ministers and other senior government officials of the country; the ambassador of Spain, José María Fernández López; representatives of the tourism and private sector of the area, as well as the vice president of the Empresas Matutes Group and president of Palladium Hotel Group, Abel Matutes .

The project also gives priority to the sustainability through “energy-efficient designs that include architectural strategies to reduce heat, a building management system to optimize lighting and ventilation, and the use of renewable energy from photovoltaic panels and a hybrid trigeneration plant,” the company reports.

Among the measures water conservation include low-flow systems, an intelligent water management system, a seawater desalination plant, and treated wastewater for irrigation.
