The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated this Thursday the orange alert in Ibiza and Formentera due to rough seas, with northwest wind of 60 to 70 km / h and waves of 3 meters. In Mallorca this alert is also active. The rest of the islands are on yellow alert for wind, with gusts that could reach maximums of 80 km/h.
The warning for rough seas will start being yellow from noon, with coastal phenomena in Ibiza and Formentera and Mallorca and force 7 winds, which will increase until reaching force 8 around 9 pm, when the warning becomes orange in all the Balearic Islands, except in Menorca where it remains yellow.
As for the wind warning, which will be yellow all day, will be activated first in Ibiza, starting at 4 pm, with maximum gusts of 70 km/h of wind from the west turning northwest. It will also be activated for Mallorca in the late afternoon, and around 9 pm there may be maximum gusts of up to 80 km / h in the Sierra de Tramuntana, with very gusty northwest wind.
Twelve autonomous communities are on alert due to the forecast of very strong winds, which will be around 100 kilometers per hour in some places, an intense swell, snowfalls or important rains, according to the information of the State Agency of Meteorology.
