The person responsible for the construction of two illegal wooden huts in the middle of the Ses Salines Natural Park in Ibiza has begun work on a third, also in a protected area, while the case opened as a result of the first infringements is in the pleadings period. The Consell plans to order the removal of these structures, in addition to fining the developer 136,000 euros when the proceedings are concluded, according to a Consell spokesperson yesterday. In addition, the same owner has been urged to remove all rental advertisements for the main villa on the same estate, which was being marketed on internet platforms despite not being registered as a tourist accommodation.
In early September, this newspaper reported that the two wooden huts had been erected on a wooded slope of the puig de es Corb Marí. A portion of the same property still remains within the urban land of a housing estate next to the es Cavallet road, although the cabins were erected in a protected rural area within the Natural Park.
After receiving this information, the Consell carried out an inspection in which it detected “a series of clearly illegal wooden hut constructions”. However, it has not yet been able to sanction the person responsible for the works because they have requested access to the entire urban development infringement file, which is now in a pleadings period.
The Consell states that its proposed resolution will order the removal of all structures erected in protected areas
The Consell states that, following this process, its proposed resolution will order the removal of all structures erected in a protected area, as well as a fine of up to 136,000 euros for the developer. Despite the urban planning disciplinary proceedings and the threat of a fine, work is currently underway on the same property on a third hut, with the same characteristics as those inspected previously and also on protected land within the Natural Park.
