Man arrested for stabbing during robbery attempt in Ibiza

Agents of the National Police in Ibiza arrested last week a man of Algerian origin and 42 years of age as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence.

The events occurred at 5.00 a.m. on Friday, May 2 in a central neighborhood of the cityaccording to the National Police, without detailing the exact location of the event.

At that time a call came into the 091 reporting that a man was on the public road bleeding from several cuts on his arm caused by a thief.

According to his account, the victim crossed the street with his assailant, who asked him for money. The man refused, so the offender began to follow him.

The victim repeatedly asked the offender to leave and began to lighten his pace trying to flee the scene, until he heard the robber yelling at him: “Give me the money or I’ll kill you!”.

The shout was followed by a surprise attack from behind with a ten-centimeter knife. The result was two stab wounds, two in the back of the arm and one in the thorax.

The agents began searching for the offender and located him in one of the streets adjacent to the scene. They arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence and also they intercepted the knife used in the attack.
