Ibiza receives 1,100 flights from 47 cities this Easter Week

Ibiza will receive this Easter 1.110 direct flights from 47 cities 38 European from eleven different countries and nine Spanish, as reported by the Consell Insular on Wednesday in a statement. The Ibiza Tourism Intelligence System (SIT Ibiza) has compiled for the first time the data of seats that airlines offer to the island’s airport during Easter.

According to the information obtained, between April 17 and April 28, there are 185,490 seats scheduled108,076 seats on 526 flights from European airports and 77,414 seats on 584 flights from Spanish airports.

In international operations, the United Kingdom is the European destination with the most scheduled flights to the island, with 161 aircraft and 28,211 seats. It is followed by Italy with 93 flights and 17,771 seats; the Netherlands with 92 flights and 17,250 seats; Germany with 91 planes and 16,663 seats and France, with 67 flights and 12,274 seats.

Ryanair is the airline with the most flights and seats on offerwith 299 and 57,336, respectively. Behind is Iberia, with 200 scheduled flights and 22,644 seats; Easyjet, with 96 flights and 17,136 seats; Transavia with 86 aircraft and 17,302 seats; Vueling with 78 flights and 27,156 seats; Eurowings with 36 flights and 6,418 seats; Jet2 with 35 flights and 6,535 seats; and finally, British Airways, with 26 flights and 5,722 scheduled seats.

The SIT also extends the data to the whole month of April and points out that, with the planned sporting events, es Codolar airport will receive a total of 2,525 direct flights with 418,233 seats: 1,245 from 38 European cities with 231,537 seats and 1,280 flights from 12 Spanish cities with 186,696 seats.

It is the first time that the anticipated data of the number of flights and seats for a specific period of the year is obtained, as highlighted by the Consell de Ibiza. It also recalls that the number of seats available is not the same as the number of passengers transiting through the airport, which are given once airport operations have been carried out.

On the other hand, SIT Ibiza has also monitored the number of hotel establishments that are open during this month of April.

Thus, from April 14 to 20 there are 168 hotels openthis number will increase in the following weeks, reaching 192 establishments in the week from April 21 to 27 and 246 in the week from April 28 to May 5, which represents 77% of the total of 305 registered hotels.

By comparison, there were 68 hotels open in the first half of March and 110 in the second half of the month.
