The owners of Cala Duo, a venue in the Natural Park of ses Salines closed on 8 August by the Consell de Formentera for operating as a nightclub under a restaurant licence, have appealed the precautionary order to cease activity, claiming they have remedied all issues flagged during a joint inspection by technicians, local police and a Balearic Government environmental agent. The inspection found the site repeatedly exceeded its 50-person capacity, charged entry with drinks, hosted prohibited musical events, had blocked or inoperative emergency exits, and occupied maritime-terrestrial public land without authorisation. The Consell will lift the closure once it verifies the corrections.
