The seventh edition runs from October 15 to 18 at The Standard, Ibiza, bringing international musicians and Ibiza-based artists Andrés Coll and Pere Navarro together for four days of concerts and masterclasses
Jazz Point Ibiza returns from October 15 to 18 for its seventh edition, once again bringing some of the leading names in international jazz to the island.
Sponsored this year by The Standard, Ibiza, the festival is changing its format, with concerts split between the UP rooftop, where afternoon performances will begin at 2.30pm, and Jara restaurant, which will host the evening sessions from 9pm.
The programme, organised by Ibiza Music Agency in collaboration with New York-based Joel Chriss Productions, brings together musicians from a range of international jazz scenes, including Romero Lubambo, Karolina Strassmayer, Tal Cohen, Michael Cruse, Maikel Vistel, Florian Arbenz, François Moutin, Catalina Londoño, Wayne Escoffery and Norberto Rodríguez.
Ibiza musicians Andrés Coll and Pere Navarro will also play a prominent role throughout the festival.
Jazz Point Ibiza opens with an international showcase
The festival gets underway on Thursday, October 15, at Jara with a showcase featuring the participating artists.
The opening night will include Romero Lubambo alongside Andrés Coll and Joan Carles Marí, Tal Cohen’s trio with Catalina Londoño, Karolina Strassmayer performing with Coll and Marí, and the trio of Maikel Vistel, François Moutin and Florian Arbenz, alongside other guest musicians.
On Friday afternoon, the programme moves to the UP rooftop for The Guitar Masters, featuring Romero Lubambo and Norberto Rodríguez.
The evening then moves back to Jara for The Trumpet Masters, with Michael Cruse’s quintet, joined by festival musicians and Ibiza trumpeter and pianist Pere Navarro.
The Jazz Point All-Stars take over Jara on Saturday
Saturday, October 17, begins at 2.30pm with Tal Cohen and Catalina Londoño presenting Sweet Sounds of Piano and Voice, with saxophonist Wayne Escoffery as a special guest.
That evening, Jara will bring together much of the festival line-up for The Jazz Point All-Stars!
The performance will feature Karolina Strassmayer, Maikel Vistel, Michael Cruse, François Moutin, Florian Arbenz, Tal Cohen and Escoffery.
It promises to be one of the festival’s major ensemble performances, bringing together musicians from different jazz backgrounds for a special night in Ibiza.
From Cannonball Adderley to Ornette Coleman
The final day, Sunday, October 18, begins at UP with A Night to Remember, performed by the Pere Navarro Trio.
The festival will close at 9pm at Jara with From Cannonball to Ornette, bringing together Karolina Strassmayer, Florian Arbenz and Andrés Coll.
The programme takes its inspiration from two landmark figures in jazz — Cannonball Adderley and Ornette Coleman — for the final performance of the 2026 edition.
Grammy-winning saxophonist among Jazz Point Ibiza artists
Among this year’s participants is Karolina Strassmayer, saxophonist and flautist with the WDR Big Band of Cologne, alongside Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo and pianist Tal Cohen.
The line-up also includes trumpeter Michael Cruse, Cuban saxophonist Maikel Vistel, Swiss drummer Florian Arbenz and French double bassist François Moutin.
Colombian singer Catalina Londoño and Wayne Escoffery, a Grammy-winning saxophonist who regularly performs with ensembles connected to Charles Mingus, will also take part.
The international line-up is completed by guitarist Norberto Rodríguez, while Ibiza’s own Pere Navarro, on trumpet and piano, and Andrés Coll, on marimba and vibraphone, represent the island’s local jazz talent.
Masterclasses for musicians in Ibiza
The festival will go beyond live performances this year, with several participating artists also delivering masterclasses for local musicians on Saturday afternoon at The Standard.
The sessions will be open to attendees, offering local musicians the opportunity to learn directly from the visiting artists and gain insight into their experience and musical knowledge.
The combination of international concerts, local talent and educational sessions forms a central part of Jazz Point Ibiza’s approach, while also giving visitors another cultural event to experience on the island in October, outside Ibiza’s traditional peak summer season.
