The island council has suspended activities and closed several facilities following emergency coordination instructions, with nurseries, libraries and other public services affected.

The Ibiza Island Council (Consell Insular d’Eivissa) has announced disruptions to public services and island council facilities as a result of Storm Adam, following instructions agreed at the latest meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Centre (CECOPI) last night. The meeting was coordinated by the Balearic Islands government’s Directorate-General for Emergencies.

The measures follow recommendations for non-essential public sector employees to remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel, and affect the operation of several council services.

Which public services and facilities are affected in Ibiza?

The island council has announced the following changes to services and facilities:

  • Public Registry and Citizen Services Office (OAMR): Minimum levels of in-person service will remain available. Residents are encouraged to complete administrative procedures through the council’s electronic office or call the multichannel helpline on 971 959 006.
  • Llar Eivissa: All activities have been suspended. However, a meal service may be provided if weather conditions allow.
  • Ibiza Island Council nursery schools: Classes and educational activities have been suspended in line with CECOPI instructions.
  • Es Raspallar, Blancadona and Sant Rafel racecourse: These facilities will remain closed until further notice.
  • Cas Serres Residential Hospital: The day-care service for external users has been suspended. Activities will continue only for residents.
  • Cas Serres Island Library: Closed until further notice.
  • Driving Test Centre: Closed until further notice.

Residents urged to avoid unnecessary travel

The Ibiza Island Council is advising residents to avoid unnecessary journeys, follow instructions issued by emergency services and stay informed through official channels.

Further changes to island council services may be announced as the situation develops.
