El ball pagès and Ibizan folklore will once again take centre stage in the port of Ibiza during the month of September. As has been customary in recent years, a series of ballades have been organised in the es Martell area of the port, which will be performed by sa Colla de sa Bodega.
Specifically, three ballades are scheduled to be held on Saturday the 18th, and Sunday the 26th of September. In all cases, the music will start at 9:30pm.
These displays of popular culture are subsidised by the Consell de Ibiza (Council of Ibiza) and with the collaboration of the Port Authority and the Asociación de Vecinos y comerciantes de la Marina (Marina Residents’ and Shopkeepers’ Association).
“In this way we try to disseminate our art and culture, as we have always done,” explained sa Colla de sa Bodega to Diario de Ibiza. They have also encouraged everyone to attend these folklore shows and to enjoy the traditional music of the island in the port setting.
