Covid incidence among twenty-somethings, the highest in Ibiza

On the island, those over the age of 70 are the least affected with covid.

Ibiza residents between 16 and 29 years of age are currently the most affected by the coronavirus, according to data from the Balearic Ministry of Health. The incidence among this group is 406.1 infections per hundred thousand people at two weeks, well above that recorded in all other age groups. This indicator is 33.7% higher than the average for the island .

Twenty-year-olds are not the only ones to exceed the average. Those in their thirties (328 infections per 100,000 inhabitants) and those aged between 40 and 49, are among those whom the incidence is 318.3.

At the moment, the age groups with the least number of infections are those between 50 and 59 years of age and those over 70 years of age. Both age groups have practically the same incidence of covid: 215 cases.

The situation in Formentera is very different. Those in their 50s has the highest concentration of infections, 233.1 per hundred thousand inhabitants in two weeks. This indicator is almost double that recorded by the total of Formentera, whose incidence stands at 168 cases. The age group least affected by the virus on this island are those in their forties, among which the rate is 84.8 infections, exactly half of the total indicator of the island, which in the last day the incidence was maintained at seven days (25.2) and the number was slightly reduced at fourteen days (168).
