The number of serious and critical coronavirus patients in the Pitiusas has fallen by 23.4% over the weekend, according to the latest pandemic data published by the Balearic Ministry of Health and the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area. This decrease is ten points higher than that recorded in the total number of active cases, which stands at 13.35% less after the weekend .
On Friday 47 patients were admitted to hospital and yesterday at midday there were already 36. The entire decrease is based on those admitted to the ward, as the number of coronavirus patients in critical care units has increased slightly: from six on Friday to seven yesterday.
In fact, this is the only change compared to Sunday, and although the total number of patients admitted was the same, their condition changed on the previous day: the number of patients on the ward decreased (29) while those in the ICU increased.
Can Misses Hospital currently has 29 covid patients, eleven fewer than last Friday, the last day that the Balearic Ministry of Health provided detailed data. A total of 26 are admitted to covid wards (16 on Internal Medicine Ward F and 10 in the Ca na Majora medium-stay unit) while the remaining three are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
There are two other affected people from the Pitiusas islands who are still in the Mallorca hospitals that they were transferred to at the height of the current wave. Both are on the ward, one in Son Espases Hospital and another in Manacor. In addition to these there are five people hospitalised due to covid in the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario: one on the ward and four in their own critical care unit, as reported by the Conselleria.
