Restaurants have until September 20 to enter Formentera’s Gastronomic Weeks, taking place from October 12 to 25, 2026.
Formentera is once again putting its local cuisine and traditional flavours in the spotlight. The Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses of Formentera (PIMEF), together with the Formentera Island Council’s Tourism Promotion Department, has opened registration for the October edition of the island’s Gastronomic Weeks.
The culinary event will run from October 12 to 25, 2026, inviting restaurants to showcase the island’s gastronomic heritage through specially created menus.
Restaurants invited to reinterpret Formentera’s traditional cuisine
Participating restaurants will be required to create a special menu for the event, drawing inspiration from traditional Formentera cuisine and local produce.
Chefs will have the freedom to put their own spin on the dishes, reinterpreting recipes, ingredients and characteristic island flavours while keeping local culinary traditions at the heart of their proposals.
The initiative aims to highlight the importance of proximity products and traditional cooking, while also giving restaurants an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity.
Customers will choose the winning menus
The 2026 edition will once again follow a competition format, with diners taking on the role of judges.
Customers will be able to rate the participating restaurants and their menus, with the establishments receiving the highest scores taking home cash prizes.
The first-place restaurant will receive €1,500, while the runner-up will be awarded €1,000.
The customer-voting format gives diners a direct role in deciding which restaurant offers the standout gastronomic experience of this year’s event.
Registration open until September 20
Restaurants wishing to participate have until 11:55pm on September 20, 2026, to complete their registration.
This year, entries will be submitted through an online registration form, where establishments must provide their details and include the full composition of the menu they plan to serve during the Gastronomic Weeks.
PIMEF will provide participating restaurants with the necessary information and assist with any questions regarding the application process.

The latest edition of the Gastronomic Weeks aims to further establish the event as an important fixture on Formentera’s culinary calendar.
