Historic day for Ibiza football and rugby: Estadi Municipal de Es Putxet hosts its first training session

After years of waiting, the city of Ibiza now has its new municipal stadium. Estadi Municipal de Es Putxet opened its doors for the first time this Thursday at 6 pm, hosting the first training session of the youth teams of Ibiza Rugby Club. The opening of the facilities represents a historic milestone for the sport on the island, as it will allow players, for the first time, to train and compete on an optimal surface that meets performance standards.

SD Ibiza is also celebrating the opening of the new stadium. Its youth teams will begin training at the facilities from 26 January, while the first team will move there next season, as it is not possible to change the pitch again during the current campaign. On Thursday afternoon, several parents accompanied by their children were among the first to see the new stadium, which they will visit weekly to bring the young players, many of whom had never experienced rugby training on a surface in perfect condition.
