Sends an acquaintance to pick up a package full of drugs in Ibiza

The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Ibiza is requesting eight years in prison and a fine of 120,000 euros for a Colombian man with no prior record, who has been in custody since 20 August in connection with this drugs case. He is accused of a crime against public health. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday 18 at 12:15 p.m. at the Provincial Court.

According to the Prosecutor’s brief, the accused, a resident of Ibiza, “agreed with unidentified third parties to receive at his home” in the island’s capital “a package containing narcotic substances, which he would then deliver to other people in exchange for money”.

The Court of Instruction No. 3 of Ibiza authorised, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, the “controlled delivery of the parcel and the substitution of the narcotic substances it contained for a harmless substance”.

On 26 June of this year, while at home, the accused received a call from a delivery driver. He then asked a friend —”who was unaware of the package’s contents and the purpose the defendant intended to give it”— to “go downstairs and collect it”. She did so, “signing the delivery note and handing it to the defendant”.

The parcel contained two bags: one with 199.49 grams of MDMA with a purity of 60.1% and a market value of 6,256 euros; and a second bag, labelled “Instant Oats”, containing pink powder with 996 grams of ketamine and 58.2 grams of MDMA. The value of the substances in this second package would amount to 39,287 euros.
