Balaclavas and handcuffs used to restrain the victim: this is how the violent robbery in Sant Antoni unfolded

The violent robbery suffered two weeks ago by an elderly woman in Sant Antoni was carried out by individuals who appeared to know exactly what they were doing, judging by the method they used to commit the crime.

They did not even need the cover of darkness, as the assault took place in broad daylight on Menéndez Pidal Street, specifically between Londres and Ramón y Cajal streets.

At least two individuals were involved in the robbery, for which they came well prepared. Wearing balaclavas and carrying handcuffs, they surprised the woman, forcing her into the house where she usually gives private tutoring lessons.

Once subdued, the 65-year-old victim was reportedly beaten in the face and body as the attackers demanded to know where she kept her valuables — which they eventually stole before fleeing.

The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation, which has not yet led to any arrests. Meanwhile, the Local Police have increased their presence in the area, both to assist in the search for the perpetrators and to reassure local residents.
