Footage from the security cameras at Can Misses Hospital has shed light on the circumstances surrounding the death of a 46-year-old patient on Monday.
The recordings show the man climbing onto an exterior wall, apparently intending to sit on top of it. However, he misjudged the distance and, after pushing himself forward with more force than expected, lost his balance and fell into the car park from a height of around five metres.
The incident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. while the patient was in the area outside the hospital’s emergency department. He fell backwards and suffered a severe head injury. Medical staff immediately came to his aid and transferred him back inside the hospital, but despite their efforts, his life could not be saved.
According to the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area, the man had been treated and taken to the Emergency Department, where he died shortly after the incident.
