The Civil Guard has ruled out that the death of a 45-year-old Italian woman last Sunday at her home in Formentera was a case of gender-based violence.
This conclusion follows the results of the autopsy, which determined that the cause of death was not due to a violent act, thereby dismissing the initial hypothesis that she had been killed by her partner.
The case is now “awaiting the results of other analyses requested to determine the exact cause of death”, according to the Civil Guard.
As for the woman’s partner, an Italian man who was arrested by the authorities, he is expected to appear in court in the coming hours.
