The beach of Illetes, in Formentera, has been recognized as the third place with the bluest waters in Spain, according to the conclusion of the car rental company Sixt, whose experts have analyzed and chromatically classified 100 of the most beautiful waters in Europe.
Platges de Comte, in Ibiza, occupies the tenth position. In a statement, the company said that searches for ‘crystal clear waters’ have increased by 44 percent.
In the case of Illetes, they have recalled that the beach is located within the Natural Park of Ses Salines.
The first position this year is occupied by the Bay of Biscay, in northern Spain. The Bay of Vigo or Cadiz also complete the list.
To make this selection, experts have used high-resolution photographs of 100 of the most beautiful bodies of water in Europe to illustrate the different colors of water that can be found throughout the continent. By selecting colors, they have determined a series of values to understand the depth of blue in each place.
