Tourist rescued after heat stroke in Sa Pedrera

Ibiza firefighters rescued Monday afternoon a foreign tourist, about 45 years old, who suffered a heat stroke in sa Pedrera, popularly known as Atlantis, in the municipality of Sant Josep.

The event occurred around 19.30 hours. Four firefighters and a foreman went to the area and assisted the man, who was hydrated with liquids. The victim was able to climb on his own feet with the help of the firefighters.

Sa Pedrera is listed as one of the risk areas for hikers. This spot of natural pools and access path to them is a focus of accidents due to falls from a certain height, bad falls from jumping into the sea from the top of the rocks, sprains or broken ankles due to inadequate footwear, collapse of the climb due to dehydration or low physical level, according to a report prepared in 2023 by the Vertical Rescue Group of the Ibiza Firefighters.
