Yacht of global footwear magnate sails in Ibiza waters

The yacht Madame Kate, an imposing vessel of just over 60 meters in length, is sailing these days in Ibizan waters. Built by the renowned Dutch shipyard Amels and delivered in 2015 after a refit in 2023, it stands out for its pearl effect pearlescent paint finish, a scimitar style bow inspired by the shape of a curved sword and customizable lighting details that provide a sophisticated visual angle, especially at night .

In fact, its exterior finish is not common in this type of vessel; it has a special paint that reflects light with a different brightness, allowing the yacht to look different depending on the time of day and the intensity of the sun.

The owner of the Madame Kate is Brazilian tycoon Alexandre Grendene Bartelle, co-founder of the Grendene company, one of the largest manufacturers of synthetic footwear in the world, along with his twin. As a curiosity, the company produces more than 250 million pairs of shoes a year and has almost fifteen factories in Brazil. What’s more, Grendene pioneered the mass production of plastic sandals at affordable prices, revolutionizing the Brazilian and world market.
