Tourist housing has long been an important part of the real estate scene in Ibiza and Formentera and the data confirms it, since in the Pitiusas islands a total of 4.052 regularized accommodations of this type by the end of 2024, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE). By islands, the island of Ibiza made available to the public 82 percent of this figurewhich amounted to 3,335 households.
If we look at the registry according to municipalities, Sant Josep is the territory that had the most legal tourist housing with 1.324 rentals of this type and accounted for almost a third of this type of accommodation on the two islands. Santa Eulària was next in proportion, with a quarter of the total offer in the Pitiüses, with 1,012.
Next, the municipality of Formentera accumulated 18 percent of tourist accommodations thanks to their 717 properties offered in this way. Finally, Sant Antoni, Sant Joan and Vila reached similar proportions, which were around eight percent. At the end of 2024, each zone counted with 380, 313 and 306 legal domiciles to host visitors, respectively.
By population centers, the city of Ibiza presented an offer of 138 accommodations of this type. Following this territory were Platja d’en Bossa, which had 85 dwellings cala de Bou and Talamanca, with 74 eachsanta Eulària, with 51, and Sant Antoni, with 39.
