The Internet is becoming their best ally when it comes to choosing a beach. Which are the most desirable ones? When does the fever to look for them start? Semrush the leading online visibility management and content marketing platform, has analyzed more than 8 million online queries made in 2024, identifying the 50 most popular beaches in Spain and revealing key trends about the digital behavior of vacationers and two of them are in Ibiza.
Although summer concentrates most of the interest, the peak of general searches related to “beach” occurs earlier. In May, according to the platform, 246,000 queries were registered, suggesting that many users start planning their vacations in advance. During the summer months, the volume remains stable, with 165,000 searches in June and August, and a slight uptick in July, which reached 201,000.
The five jewels of Balearic paradise
The Balearic Islands is positioned as the autonomous community with the highest volume of searches, with an average of over 460 thousand monthly queries distributed among 5 of its beaches, which have managed to overcome the threshold of the ranking of the 50 most popular beaches in Spain:

Andalusia and the Canary Islands follow the Balearic Islands in the highest volume of searches per community, with 437,168 and 396,000 queries respectively. In terms of quantity, the Canary Islands lead with 14 beaches, followed by Andalusia, with 8, and Cantabria with 6.
Top 10 most popular beaches in Spain
At a general level, according to the Semrush analysis, the beach of Las Catedrales, located in Galicia, tops the ranking with an average of 209,000 queries during the summer months. It is followed by the Valencian beach of Malvarrosa with 165,000 searches on average, and the beach of Muro, located in the Balearic Islands, with an average of 146,667.

What else is searched for besides sun and beach
It is no longer enough to search for “beach” and start packing your suitcase. More and more users are refining their searches to find places that match their tastes and lifestyle. Searches for “nudist beach”, for example, soared in August to 110,000, well above their usual average of just over 10,000 per month. Dog-friendly beaches are also gaining ground: “dog-friendly beach” has grown by 20.8% in the last year, with peaks of just under 27,000 searches per month.
