Lynn Goldsmith’s first visit to Ibiza in the 1970s

The photographer Lynn Goldsmith and the singer Cherie Currie of The Runaways are “happy” to be in Ibiza. This is what they have expressed hours before participating in the fifth edition of Contrast Ibiza, during the press conference to present the festival at the headquarters of the Consell de Ibiza.

Goldsmith, considered one of the most important female photographers of the rock historyhas explained that the first time he visited Ibizaa was in the 70’s and that she feels happy in our country: “From my heart, Spain is a place that I feel like mine,” she said, while praising the beauty of the island. For Currie this is her first time on the island and has stressed the honor it is for her to perform with her band, with whom she will perform songs from the group she belonged to in the 70s, The Runaways.

The General Director of Culture, Miquel Costa, has highlighted “the level of a proposal that increases its artistic commitment every year”, and the impact it has to “give a vision and a look of that cultural Eivissa that multiplies with artists like them,” he said in reference to Goldsmith and Currie.

Eva Prats, councillor for Culture of the City Council of Sant Antoni, has emphasized that “Contrast puts the municipality on the international map and that Contrast is a key date in its annual calendar, with an unparalleled venue such as Sa Punta des Molí“.

Isabel Maciel, coordinator of the Aula UNED of Eivissa, explained that for the institution it is an honor to support this initiative that shows the quality of the artistic proposals that are programmed on the island”.
