Ibiza-based mountaineer Félix Sánchez Gómez and his team initially planned to tackle peaks in Argentine Patagonia, but extreme weather forced a change in plans. Joined unexpectedly by Miguel Ángel Vilaplana Torregrosa, they diverted to Vallecitos, Mendoza, a high-altitude region near Aconcagua with more favorable conditions. The expedition, though unplanned, proved highly productive, showcasing Cordón del Plata as a key training ground for mountaineers.
