Luxury tourism in Spain grew by 23.5% in average price per night in 2024, according to data from the eBooking.com platform that assures that luxury tourism only represents 4.85% of bookings in Spain. The platform has made a balance of the favorite hotels for tourists, and one of Ibiza has slipped into the ranking.
Luxury tourism in Spain has maintained its stability in recent years, although with a significant increase in prices, according to data from eBooking.com, a Spanish platform specialized in booking tourist accommodation.
In 2024, high-end accommodations in the country will be recorded an average price of €500 per night, representing an increase of 23.5% over 2022.
“In 2022, the average price of this segment ranged between 360 and 450 euros per night. However, in 2024, five-star hotels and resorts have reached 500 euros per night,” explains Toni Raurich, director of eBooking.com.
By nationality, Spaniards led bookings in luxury accommodations in Spain, accounting for 57.1% of the total in 2024. They were followed by the French (9.3%), and at a greater distance by Italians (4.4%), English (3.3%) and Swiss (3.1%).
In total, luxury tourism in Spain accounted for 4.85% of the volume of travelers during 2024, a figure similar to that recorded in 2022, when it reached 4.7%.
The most in-demand
Among the most sought-after high-end accommodations some of the most emblematic names in the sector stand out. For eBooking.com, the most booked hotels in 2024 were: Hotel W Barcelona (Barcelona), Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa (Alicante), Hard Rock Hotel (Ibiza), Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa (Gran Canaria), Valentin Sancti Petri (Cadiz) and Hotel Alfonso XIII (Seville).
These accommodations stand out for offering exclusive services that attract tourists with high purchasing power, such as central locations in large cities and the presence of luxury spas among their facilities.
The report underlines that luxury tourism continues to be a key sector for the Spanish market, both for the stability in the volume of travelers and for the increase in average prices. With a customer profile that values exclusivity, comfort and privileged location, Spain continues to consolidate its position as a preferred destination for high-end tourism.
