The 1967 murder of a French student in Ibiza was initially attributed to an American man, Jules Morton, who was detained but later acquitted due to insufficient evidence. Years later, in 1971, the crime was linked to Spanish serial killer Manuel Delgado Villegas, known as “El Arropiero”, after his confession to numerous murders across Spain, France, and Italy. Delgado’s detailed reconstruction of the crime highlighted his encounter with the victim at a house in Sant Jordi. This complex case, rife with myths and misinformation, is the subject of El Arropiero. The Deconstruction of a Monster by Cristina Amanda Tur and Héctor Escandell, based on extensive research and witness testimonies. The book marks the first of three planned projects on Delgado, including a TV series and a feature film, both under development by RMVistar.
