The National Police of Ibiza has arrested this Monday at dawn a man for threatening another “with a sharp object” when paying the parking ticket in a parking near the port of Ibiza. According to the police, the detainee, a 53 year old Senegalese man, has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of serious threats and damage.
The man threatened the victim on Sunday around ten o’clock at night. The National Police arrested the alleged perpetrator at 03.45 hours, after the victim filed the complaint at the police station. “He was approached by the man while paying the ticket to pick up his vehicle. The alleged perpetrator threatened the man with a sharp object, so the victim fled and got into his car to protect himself,” explains the National Police. The man chased the victim until he reached his car and, once there, damaged the vehicle with the object he was carrying.
The agents of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police searched for the alleged perpetrator and located him an hour later in a square that was near the parking lot and then arrested him.
The agents of the Specialized and Violent Crime Group (UDEV), in charge of continuing with the investigation, confirmed that the detainee was known both to the agents and to neighbors and shopkeepers in the area, as he had committed similar crimes in the past. In fact, the police specify that he was recently arrested for robbing an establishment.
The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Juzgado de Instrucción de Guardia of Ibiza.
