The “Truita de patata vermerlla d’Eivissa” competition in Ibiza challenged nine teams to create the best omelette using eggplant instead of eggs. Held in the Plaça de la Constitució, the event marked the 150th anniversary of the Mercat Vell. “Es Truitons” won the contest, with “La Comuna” and “Pessi” following. The competition, part of a student-led charity project, aimed to donate to Caritas. Different styles of omelettes, like the thinly sliced “Betanzos omelette,” were featured, and the jury included local chefs and dignitaries, creating a festive and communal atmosphere.
