The establishments are located in the municipalities of Ibiza, Sant Josep and Sant Antoni, and none of the projected works will mean an increase in the number of tourist places.
Two are hotels that are upgrading their category with accessibility improvements, air conditioning, water purification, solar energy installation, and improvements in common areas and gymnasium.
The Palmyra upgrades to five stars
One of them is upgraded to five stars, with an investment of 13 million euros, and the other to three stars, with an investment of 250,000 euros. This is the Palladium Hotel Palmyra, also owned by Grupo Empresas Matutes.
With this investment, this holding company founded by the former minister Abel Matutes Juan, and now managed by his son Abel Matutes Prats, has the largest share of the investments approved by the Consell de Ibiza.
“With these projects we encourage private investment to modernize and make our hotel plant and other tourist establishments more sustainable with incentive policies without expanding the number of tourist places,” stressed the Councilor for Tourism Planning, Mariano Juan.
This is the second commission of the year that approves hotel reform projects in Ibiza, after the one held in April with three projects approved for an amount of 3.1 million euros.
