Sant Rafel celebrates on Saturday an anti-crisis Octubrefest

Twelve brands of beer, 750 snacks and concerts by Ruda, Lacalle, Dr Trapero and Joven Dolores, the offer of the 15th edition of the festival

The first 500 tickets sold at Sant Rafel’s Octubrefest will win a simple but useful surprise gift that the organisers do not want to reveal. It will be one of the attractions of this veteran festival, which celebrates its 15th edition on Saturday in the Sant Rafel marquee (next to the petrol station) from 8 pm onwards. The rest is the unbeatable offer of rock and beer.

“Last year it was apotheosis. People were eager to get the pandemic out of their system and the tent was full all night. We ran out of snacks and beer and at some points there were lines to buy tickets. To solve it this year we will have more snacks, more beer and more points of sale,” says Pau Gomila, spokesman for Grup Octubrefest, which organizes the festival.

So if last year there were 500 snacks, this year they will prepare 750 of sausage and pork loin and will again install fires to roast sobrassadaso that no one will go hungry. In addition there will be draft beer of two different brands and ten more bottled from different parts of the world, including a 0.0 and another gluten-free. All at popular prices, the same as in the last editions, in an anti-crisis party.

Four bands

As far as music is concerned, they have once again opted for the formula of groups from the island, with rock as a common denominator. A very complete line-up that will start with two bands with a long career that mix versions of classics with their own songs, the girls from Ruda and the guys from Lacalle. He will continue with a group that ensures the party, Dr Traperoand will close Young Doloresthey had been some time in festivals but we really wanted to have them in the Octubrefest, where they have never played, and this year we have bet on them,” says Gomila.

In the organization and work at the festival collaborate each year between 20 and 30 people from Sant Rafel, although they assure that they are open to anyone who wants to collaborate. The formula is simple: anyone who wants to contribute their work can do so and all proceeds are used in the festival the following year. The idea, as they emphasize, is to ‘fer poble’.
