The ‘recordman’ from Zaragoza Toni Abadía and the Ecuadorian Khaty Tisalema have won this Sunday in the 14th Cursa 10K Pla de Sant Mateu, which brought together 500 athletes in the event organized by the Club Ibiza Trail. Abadía (Adidas club) could not lower the best time of the race but he has imposed with authority in the 10km distance with a time of 30 minutes and 59 seconds. Manuel Jiménez (Go Fit Athletics), with a time of 31:26, and Miguel Ángel Barral (Atlética Lucense), with 33:35, completed the men’s podium.
The best local classified was Aritz Rodríguez (Prat Triatló 1994), fourth with 34:09.
Khaty Tisalema first female in the 14th Cursa 10K Pla de Sant Mateu
In the female category the victory was taken by the Ecuadorian Khaty Tisalema, who with a time of 34:51 has established the best female record in the 14 years of the Pla de Sant Mateu event to finish fifth overall, in a race completed by 225 female runners. Isabel Linares and the Ibizan Irati Matas have obtained the second and third position, respectively.
The 5km race featured 114 participants, among whom Adrian Guirado and Veronica Castro shone. The Peña Deportiva de Santa Eulària won with a time of 15 minutes and 34 seconds, ahead of the young Mark Roper (CA Pitiús), with 16:41, and his teammate Mauro García , with 17:13. For the females, the athlete from the Peña Deportiva marked a time of 20:40, 14th overall, to face the top of the podium in Sant Mateu ahead of Catalina Vasilache and Aitana Lopez.
The event also featured a skate race and races for lower categories.
